TREATY OF VERSAILLES
The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties at the end of World War I. It ended the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers. It was signed on 28 June 1919, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Big three was a group that concentrated major power and consisted of: one American (President: Woodrow Wilson), one British (Minister: David Lloyd George) and one French (Minister: Clemenceau), who for months negotiated and argumented what should happen to Germany and its allies after the war. Since their countries (especially the Europeans) were slaughtered in the period of five years, there was a sense of vendetta (due to the deaths in allied side, almost 4,616,000), thus the horrendous measures imposed Germany, such as:Army was reduced to an insignificant size, loss of territory, a colossal debt that the country could not afford especially after the war (to bankrupt them), imminent Russian influence (communism) even with that wasn't enough for the recently injured countries, they also wanted to humiliate Germany by making them admit that they started the war. All of the points in this treaty were proposed to beneficiate the Allies in one way or another and Germany was almost required to sign the papers, since they were given two chances: sign or be invaded by the allies. Depending on the person's point of view this allies maneuvers could seem relentless and undeliberate even after a bloody war like that. The fact that the treaty was signed in the mirror's room in the palace of Versailles could be considered a metaphor for the beaten side, especially Germany, to reflect on their mistakes since it is a room full of mirrors. Also, Germany was viewed as this beautiful blonde woman laying on the ground with great bloodshed, a woman that was beaten violently by a evil man. She needed care to turn again into the great woman that she once was (Make Germany Great Again) and that was a big argument that the former Corporal, Adolf Hitler, had to go into power and transform the beaten Germany into a world potency in less than 15 years. The document shows the scare of Allies in the end of the war and knowing what happened during the conflicts, it provides a aftermath of the war that was not favorable for the Triple Entente, especially Germany.
